Solutions
Plate-setter
ChromaChecker™ Dot Inspector can monitor and fix solve some problems with plate setters.
Uniformity, linearization, and repeatability can be examined with a simple test form.
For measurements, dot meters is required. Spectrophotometer version is coming soon.
Check Digital Press / LFP Precision and Accuracy
Run Variation tests - measure variations:
intra-page
inter-page variations
inter-job variations
Print VI-816 test form (or similar), next use Variation Inspector for data analysis. If your press
precision is as expected go to step two: Analyze the same data with next tool: Print Inspector.
If results accepted, Curve Inspector module can deliver TRCA (Tone Repro Curve Adjustment).
Three calibration methods are for user selectable:
TVI densitometric - (ISO curves are required)
TVI - colorimetric
G7 (coming soon)
Built high-quality data set for the profiling purpose.
If quality for profile making is expected, ChromaChecker can deliver data for profile creation.
Variation Inspector can analyze a structure of all measurement and check if data can be averaged.
If variations are too high, it is important to find the reason. It is important to understand that it
happens that measurement instruments can incorrectly capture data. Sometimes (e.g. on offset press)
data from a different location on the sheet due to slurring or doubling issues differs very much.
If we know that is error distribution in data before averaging, we can fix the problem if exists.
Averaged data with variation analysis can be used for profile creation.
User can manually exclude some measurement files (deviation from baseline bring
all relevant information to make such decision).
Two or more presses/printers, do not match
To find out the reason compare two similar tracks of two or more printing devices.
Expert mode will bring all necessary information to resolve an issue. There is a lot of information
which can help to understand a source of problems. Ink GPS tool can be very useful, as well
as curve analysis, or G7 conformance. For Example Ink GPS can help to adjust calibration
targets for your Digital Presses or LFPs, so devices will run similar conditions.
Find best match substrate using multiple sort criteria.
If you need to find the best match for the particular substrate measure it with i1Pro 2 and
upload measurements to Substrate inspector. Optionally make some additional measurements
with the micrometer and gloss meter and select criteria for best match - various parameters will
be compared to all currently defined substrates. To learn more about this feature consult manual.
Best Match for proofing substrate
I may want to print proof on a substrate that match your production paper stock. You may expect
that will have similar fluorescent effect – similar amount of OBAs. If you will be able to control
all important parameters, you can use any substrate dedicated to your printer (not only
dedicated as proofing paper) and use it to make a proof. Only what you need is proper tool that
can help you to find the best match. The Substrate Inspector can help you do that!
Find best match Reference Profile to your device.
During regular production analysis, it is very easy to check if measured data can be closer
to references described by any other ICC profile stored in user assets. This method can
be used to recognize if any, of already existing ICC profiles, can be used for color management
for specified print condition (track). For LFP, this tool can save time and cost - simple, and
very small control strip (e.g. PI-64) may find a solution in seconds. For the best match E-Factor™
will be calculated, and a detailed list o profiles will be reported.
Minimize the number of profiles
divided by different E-Factor levels. This unique tool can compare all possible combination
of different substrates /print conditions.
Minimize the number of curves
Curve Inspector can compare curves calculated for different Print Conditions.
In order to optimize numbers of curves a weighted average tool can be usefull.
Profile Inspector
Assesses multiple characterization sets and parses wrong measurements and averages
the rest to make an accurate data set in which to generate a profile from.
